@meggie What’s the most interesting volcano ever? I can only pick 1? That’s a toughie, because every volcano behaves in a different way and is therefore interesting for me, but I guess my favourite would have to be Kilauea in Hawaii just because I spent 3 months working a the volcano observatory there. It’s very special to me. Kilauea erupted in not 1, but 2 places whilst I was there, so I got to see lava flows AND a new lava lake, and I’ve seen some pretty exciting images via HVO’s website this year, including lava fountains and part of the Pu’u O’o vent collapsing after the lava lake inside it drained out. You can have a look too: http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov > Kilauea eruption update and then go to either ‘images’ or ‘webcams’ (if you can’t see anything on there, it might be nighttime. Hawaii is 13 hours behind UK time)
Kilauea isn’t as explosive though as the volcano I am on now, Soufriere Hills
