Oh goblinking, what a cool question.

I think the most important aspect is producing knowledge that is accessible, readable, to everyone. It’s great that I do all this cool research on women’s health, and I’m very proud of it. But the most important part is that I make sure not to keep it to myself.

There is a whole Open Access movement within science right now, to make us better at outreach, but also make all of our science papers readable to anyone who wants them. Right now many papers are behind a paywall — regular folks would have to pay $30-100 just for one article! How are we ever going to get anyone to trust, believe in, or enjoy science if they can’t read the articles? So this is a big deal to me.
