      Hi Chloe,
A burp is just us releasing a build up of gass from our stomachs. If we drink fizzy juice or something similar all the carbon dioxide is released in our stomach and this puts pressure inside our stomach we need a release from this pressure so we let the gas out and BURP!

Farting is a whole other matter!

Yes, and in addition to fizzy drinks we can also ingest air by eating too fast. More reasons to eat slowly and at the table instead of on the go, I suppose!

Thats how people can sometimes make themself burp on demand as they swallow a large amount of air in one gulp and then push it back up…. but I wouldn’t suggest you do this as I think it can make you feel a bit sick!?!

@chloelou98 @Jamie I don’t want to gross you out, but funnily enough I was talking with someone today about farts, because they haven’t been able to do a poo for a whole week!!! This person has been eating nothing else but peanuts, pizza and a banana, so it’s no wonder he feels gassy with all of that decomposing in his stomach. A friend of ours is going to make him eat prunes tomorrow!
