So far it is not possible for a spacecraft to go into an intergalactic space travel. However, the Voyager 1 is the farthest away human made space craft that has been sent into space. It has left our solar system and now is as far as 115 times the distance from the earth to the sun! That is quite a lot for human scale but it is not so in terms of star distances. For example, light is the fastest thing in the universe. It takes a ray o light about 8 minutes to travel the distance from the sun to the earth. Signals from Voyager 1 take about 16 hours to reach the earth, and those travel at the speed of light!!! But that is not much compared with the four years it takes light to reach the earth from the closest star, Proxima Centauri.
