Well, I’ve probably already bored you all with this, but yes… roller derby! Aside from my family, that is my favorite thing besides science.

But I also really love to read. I read a lot of science fiction, but right now I’m reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I have barely started, and haven’t seen the movie, so don’t tell me how it ends!

Yes loads! I love art and photography, I did A level art and AS level photography! Also I like music and in a week I am going to glastonbury festival!! I’m so excited. I also love socialising with my friends. So we are just like an normal people. Science is great but it isn’t everything in life (even my supervisor would agree with that as he encourages us all to have a good work-life balance, as otherwise you may end up resenting science and we don’t want that!!).

      Hi em,
Well my main hobby is salsa, it teach three classes a week and sometimes will go out to the pub just to dance around. I also love films and have a huge dvd collection. Right now planning science shows is taking up a fair bit of my time- but I love doing this too.
Quite often I’ll be out for dinner or drinks with friends.

@em210198 Yes! When I’m at home in Leeds I love going to exercise classes, especially boxercise and aerocombat (like aerobics, but using martial arts moves), and I used to go to street dance and Bollywood dance classes when I lived in London. Here on the Caribbean island of Montserrat there isn’t really a gym, so I’ve been going with my new housemates (who are also scientists) for swims in the sea. I only just learnt to swim properly a few weeks ago, so it’s still a new experience for me!

I like cooking and baking (Nigella Lawson’s recipe for rosemary cake is my current favourite), and, shhh, don’t tell anyone, but I used to watch a lot of tv. I became addicted to watching a Danish cop drama series on BBC4 called ‘The Killing’. It’s 20 episodes long, but there were so many twists and turns in the storyline, it kept us viewers hooked!
