      Hi,
I didn’t while it was happening I was writting answers on here!
We have eclipses because all the planets are constantly moving. Last night the earth was casting a shadow on the moon. Basically the sun the moon were in a line and the earth was standing between them.

Just the way you cast a shadow on a wall

I went to a lunar eclipse event at the museum of science and industry in Manchester last night! I got to watch a planetarium show, listen to a talk about the history of the face of the moon and watch a live link-up of the eclipse from Israel…. the only sad part was that in Manchester it was cloudy last night so we couldn’t see it in the sky. Did you see it? It was a beautiful red on the live link-up.

@iamjesus I missed the lunar eclipse because I didn’t know it was happening, but I think it was during the daytime here on Montserrat anyway.

I missed it too, though like Philippa I’m pretty sure it was during the day in my part of the world. One of my favorite things when I was in school was when there was a solar eclipse and we all got to go outside and look at it — only, as you probably know, we couldn’t look at it straight on. So we had different boxes and slips of paper with holes in it to help us see it without burning our eyes!
