@idunno Not married and no kids, but I’m happy being single. That doesn’t mean that I stay home alone all the time. Quite the opposite! Us scientists are very sociable 🙂
I met a volcanologist called Christie once. She works at the Alaskan Volcano Observatory. She told me that she had got married and had 2 kids whilst she and her husband were studying science at university. I was in awe of that, but she said that it just required a little more dedication and time management than for her classmates.
I’m definitely not ready for getting married or having kids, I still feel very much a teenager myself (even though I’m 25!). I’m in a relationship though… so I must not be too much of a geek then, lol.
Yeah, I’m married with one child. I’ve been with my husband for eleven years, married almost six. We met in college, and we both became academics — he is a chemical engineer.
