      Hi Chloe and Jack

If there were no gravity in the universe, we simply would not be here. Stars would have never formed and the universe would be pretty much like an even ball of dust.

If you want to know what happens when we leave the earth and float around in space then that is a bit different. When astronauts are in their missions in outer space and you see them floating around, they are in fact free falling towards the earth. It is because they have a large side velocity (which cannot be felt) that they don’t seem to be actually going down towards the planet. Gravity is everywhere and you cannot escape from it not hide from it. The best you can do is free fall. That effectively “cancels” the feeling of gravity….
